Georgia HICD

The Kaizen Company was chosen to implement the next stage of The USAID Human and Institutional Capacity Development (HICD) Activity in Georgia. Georgia HICD aims to achieve lasting results in the human and institutional capacity development of key strategic partner institutions in Georgia that play an important role in advancing the country’s Journey to Self-Reliance (J2SR).  Kaizen will partner with governmental, non-governmental, and private sector entities to establish all types of HICD services necessary to increasing organization integrity, operational effectiveness, and long-term viability of an institution.

This latest iteration of the Georgia HICD project is designed to be the last. The Georgia HICD Activity innovates by instituting new elements like a brand-new Center of Excellence to enhance knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer support, while maintaining effective workstreams for short-term, long-term, and last mile support from past projects. By reframing HICD as a J2SR catalyst driven by Georgian partners, Kaizen is implementing HICD as a truly partner-led process and making the process accessible to non-experts, including marginalized groups. The Georgia HICD Activity also prepares Georgian subcontractors to lead donor projects through hands-on experience with designing, winning, and implementing new projects.

Over the five years of this project (Dec. 2020 – Dec. 2025), Georgia HICD will cultivate peer networks that refresh and renew HICD efforts, so they are sustained during challenging times, leadership transitions, and thrives as the world recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic.
