Business Association Strengthening
Kaizen technical assistance provides demand driven support that builds the institutional capacity of business associations, enabling them to become fully self sustaining entities that provide valuable services to their members. Initially, KC conducts rapid baseline assessments for each relevant association, gauging capacity and capturing key indicators in our business association dashboard diagnostic. KC baseline assessments are done in partnership with each association and determine assistance that will add immediate value. Associations then establish and commit to sustainability targets for subsequent years, with a specific timeline for completing and successfully maintaining these core institutional requirements. At a mutually agreed upon and pre-determined point, associations that fail to demonstrate sufficient institutional capacity do not receive additional direct support. Instead, they are provided access to KC’s comprehensive database of best practice tools, templates, and other resources. These empower their efforts to regain the required level of institutional self sufficiency, and to qualify for further assistance. This provides a positive incentive for motivated associations to get back on track. By increasingly channeling resources to those associations that demonstrate self sufficiency and institutional capacity, technical assistance flows to those associations that are best equipped to use it effectively.
