Dr. Brandon Sitzmann has more than 20 years of experience at the nexus of science and international development across government, academia, and the private sector.
As the Project Director r for USAID’s Partnerships Incubator, he diversifies and strengthens the Agency’s capacity for new and local partnerships and fosters partner organizations in order to catalyze innovations that advance development impact.
Before joining the Kaizen Company, Brandon worked for Washington State University as the Director of Global Research and Engagement. Prior to that, he held multiple positions at USAID and NOAA with a focus on establishing research networks that promoted the science-policy-society interface through research and innovation.
Brandon holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Saint Mary’s University in Minnesota, a master’s of science degree in animal science from the University of Minnesota, and a doctorate degree in animal science from the University of Maryland. His post-doctoral research utilized population genetics, systematics, and ecological monitoring to study and preserve biodiversity on the island of Madagascar.
