In partnership with Chemonics International, The Kaizen Company supported the Nepalese Ministry of Commerce and Supplies (MOCS) in improving trade and fiscal policies and practices to facilitate trade and increase revenue for vital government functions. Since the Ministry already had the staff, organizational structures and procedures in place, Kaizen’s aim was to improve the present capacity of the Ministry in the trade and fiscal areas, not to create new structures or organizations. Kaizen staff provided technical advice and trainings to Ministry staff on topics such as trade data analysis and trade negotiation skills. These activities contributed to the overall objective of the project, to increase trade and government revenues so that the government can fund education, health, infrastructure and other social services to improve lives.
