Regional Intergovernmental Organization System Strengthening
The Kaizen Company currently serves as the prime implementer of the USAID-funded Regional Intergovernmental Organization (RIGO) System Strengthening activity. RIGO System Strengthening provides the tools to empower RIGOs to strengthen their performance and, in turn, provide economic growth and resilience in East Africa. Created by their governments to hasten regional integration, RIGOs are vital to the region’s prosperity and security, and central to USAID/Kenya and East Africa’s Regional Development and Cooperation and Strategy. Kaizen is directly working with three RIGOs to provide capacity building support: the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, the East African Community, and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa.
The ultimate goal of RIGO System Strengthening is to create a virtuous cycle of more vested members, greater RIGO influence; and fewer structural impediments to sustainable, RIGO-led economic growth and stability in East Africa. Kaizen combines deep Human and Institutional Capacity Development expertise with extensive regional and RIGO-specific knowledge to institutionalize continuous capacity and performance improvement within the RIGOs.
