The Kaizen Company currently serves as the prime implementer of the USAID-funded Uganda Organizational Development Activity (Uganda ODA). Uganda ODA strengthens USAID/Uganda’s internal relationships, systems, processes, practices, and organizational culture to deliver effective development advancements for the Ugandan people.

The Activity was conceived as a means of building upon the exhaustive process of engagement that yielded the Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS). The Mission had already begun the transformation journey towards strengthening staff, teams, cross-teams and leadership given that these groups/functions are critical to realizing the mission’s strategy. Organizational Development Activity (ODA) is supporting the Mission as an in-house organizational development ‘consulting practice’ helping facilitate a Mission of development catalysts who, individually and collectively, achieve the Mission’s goals and priorities. The ultimate goal of the ODA is to strengthen the Mission (people-wise) internally in order to support enhanced delivery externally.

ODA’s interventions are anchored around an Organizational Health (OH) framework that has been customized for the Mission’s particular structure and purpose. Organizational Health (OH) is an organization’s ability to align around a common vision, execute effectively against that vision, and to continuously renew itself through innovation and creative thinking. OH is how the organizational ship is run, no matter who is at the helm and what waves rock the vessel.
