USAID Pre-Service Teacher Education in Jordan

The Kaizen Company (Kaizen) is contributing to the USAID Pre-Service Teacher Education in Jordan activity, implemented in direct collaboration with the Jordanian Ministry of Education (MoE) and Ministry of Higher Education (MoHED). The project seeks to increase the preparedness of future Grade 4-10 teachers by improving the system of pre-service teacher education in Jordan. As a sub-contractor to IREX, Kaizen serves as the lead organization working with the MoE and MoHED to track and effectively utilize data to inform pre-service teacher education policy and planning.

USAID Pre-Service Teacher Education in Jordan will expand and improve the pre-service teacher education programming offered by Jordanian universities, centered primarily around the implementation of the adapted Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA) pre-service teacher education modules. By supporting a total of four geographically diverse universities and relevant Government of Jordan (GoJ) entities to implement high-quality pre-service programs, and by providing responsive technical assistance to the GoJ to advance essential pre-service teacher education reforms more broadly, the five-year USAID Pre-Service Teacher Education in Jordan contract will achieve its mission to increase the number of quality teachers in Jordan.
