Kaizen delivers organizational development services to USAID/Kenya and East Africa, implementing partners, and other stakeholders on the Localization, Inclusion, and Sustainability Activity.

Kaizen holds a five-year, $8.7-million subcontract on the USAID-funded Localization, Inclusion, and Sustainability Activity (LISA). The activity aims to support USAID Kenya and East Africa (USAID/KEA) staff and stakeholders to be more efficient, effective, transparent, inclusive, and skilled in achieving development outcomes. The activity enhances USAID/KEA’s organizational project design; programming; monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) practices; diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) objectives; and Mission-wide localization efforts. LISA will enable USAID/KEA to elevate local voices and co-create programs with local partners, including marginalized populations, girls and women, and youth.

Highlights

  • Support USAID/KEA through facilitation of retreats, events, delivery of trainings, and specialized services
  • Conduct tailored organizational assessments of Kenyan grantees and design follow-on capacity-building services

Under LISA, Kaizen delivers services related to LISA’s organizational development (OD) objectives and mission-wide localization efforts, primarily to USAID/KEA, implementing partners, and other stakeholders. Kaizen is improving systems, coordination, collaboration, and OD to enhance institutional learning and program effectiveness. Based on demand, Kaizen plans and organizes learning events, trainings, co-creations, pause-and-reflect sessions, and other convenings that capture and amplify learning within the Mission and across implementing partners.

In response to USAID/KEA’s localization efforts, Kaizen also supports the organizational capacity strengthening of select Kenyan partners, including not-for-profit organizations, public universities, and faith-based organizations in the health sector. The goal is to empower organizations to meet wider goals and areas of growth and enhance their ability to work with USAID on specific awards. Kaizen encourages partner engagement of partners, a collaborative assessment process, and the development of tailored capacity-strengthening plans.

As a subcontractor to SoCha LLC. , Kaizen is utilizing its decades of experience in OD and localization to support the USAID/KEA staff and stakeholders to increase locally led, owned, and managed development outcomes.
