Bizunesh Gelaw is a seasoned professional specialized in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL), Knowledge Management, and Collaboration, Learning, and Adapting (CLA), with over 15 years of practical experience. Her expertise spans the full spectrum of program management, including strategic planning, project design, system establishment, implementation support, capacity building, and ecosystem development.
She has deep knowledge and practical experience in applying MEAL and CLA in both development and emergency contexts. Her experience covers diverse sectors such as education, health, livelihood, child protection, governance, entrepreneurship and innovation.
Bizunesh has held senior positions at organizations including Save the Children, the Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA), the Mitchell Group (a US-based consultancy firm and USAID contractor), and Reach for Change. These roles have involved local, regional, and global responsibilities.
She holds a BSc in Public Administration and Management and a master’s degree in Social Work.
In her current role, as Deputy Learning and Innovation Director for the USAID Learning and Analytics Activity, she is responsible for supporting innovative learning approaches are streamlined across all Mission support and learning project programming.
