Kafia Omar Djama is the Technical Manager for GBV/FGM for the USAID/Supporting Civil Society Engagement in the Local Development Process, Djibouti.

Before joining Kaizen, Kafia worked as a consultant for the Expertise France agency that supports the program for decentralization and Local Initiative in the five regions of Djibouti. She worked as Head of the Department for Training and Labor Insertion of People with Disabilities at the National Agency of People with Disabilities. She also worked at the Women Union Djiboutian Organization, chaired by the first Lady of the Country. Kafia has worked with various reputable institutions in the area of promoting women’s empowerment and supporting the protection of maternal and child health, as well as gender-based violence issues. These institutions include, UNHCR, UNICEF, ONUSIDA, FHI360, World Bank, Africa Development Bank, Japan Embassy, and European. Kafia also has experience in the project management cycle, finance grants, and administration of projects.

Kafia holds a bachelor’s degree in Global Studies International-Relationship (GSIR) from New Generation Colleges University, in Addis Ababa. She Speaks French, Intermediary English and Amharic, Somali.
