Roman (Roma) is an international development professional with more than 20 years of experience in program management and organizational capacity building for USAID-funded activities in Georgia.
He is a Human and Institutional Capacity Development (HICD) expert, passionate about facilitating change and leading development projects to achieve tangible improvements in human and institutional capacity. Roman has extensive experience effectively coordinating with the Georgian government, diplomatic missions, donor agencies, and private enterprises, and has proven analytical, policy, and program development skills.
Prior to joining the Kaizen Company, Roman worked for various USAID contractors, including ME&A, Chemonics, World Learning, and others.
As a Chief of Party for the USAID/Georgia HICD Activity, Roman leads a $9.9 million five-years project with to goal to achieve lasting results in the human and institutional capacity development of key strategic partner institutions in Georgia that play an important role in advancing the country’s Journey to Self-Reliance (J2SR). These may include governmental, non-governmental, and private sector entities for all types of HICD services.
Roman holds an M.S. in Civil and Industrial Engineering and Construction Management from Georgian Technical University. He is a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT) through the International Society for Performance Improvement and certified (practitioner and consultant level) HICD Virtual Academy graduate. Roman is fluent in Georgian, English, and Russian.
