Smriti has over fifteen years of experience in international development with expertise in capacity strengthening of civil society organizations, strategic planning and rural development.
Her technical skills include organizational development, systems thinking and adaptive management. As Senior Technical Specialist at Kaizen, Smriti provides technical support to a portfolio of USAID projects and contributes to business development. She is also a member of Tetra Tech’s Localization Discussion Group.
Smriti has worked in executive leadership roles in her previous jobs at Root Change and Global Integrity. She has collaborated with local organizations in Nepal, India, Philippines, Kenya, Nigeria, Malawi, and Senegal on their capacity strengthening journey and to support their locally-led efforts. When working at the World Bank, she supported state governments in India to implement $200 million rural livelihoods projects. She has consulted the Malaysian government on addressing social and economic issues in rural areas. Smriti received her MA in international relations and international economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She is a native speaker of Nepali, and is fluent in English and Hindi.
