As a subcontractor to RTI International, The Kaizen Company (Kaizen) is contributing to the implementation of USAID-funded Early Grade Reading and Math (RAMP 2) project in direct collaboration with the Jordanian Ministry of Education (MoE). RAMP 2 Extension builds upon key accomplishments and milestones achieved during Year 1 – 5. Kaizen continues to serve as the lead organization strengthening community mobilization and engagement, providing technical leadership to encourage parental involvement in schools and at home to support student learning in reading and mathematics.

Under RAMP 2 Extension (Year 6 and Year 7), Kaizen is leading the sustainability and institutionalization of community mobilization accountability mechanisms and continues to build upon the capacity of the Ministry of Education (MoE) at the school, district, and central level. To achieve RAMP 2 objectives, Kaizen is using School Report data provided by RTI to focus parental engagement activities in field directorates that have the highest number of lower-performing students. Additionally, Kaizen is expanding its SMS campaign to raise awareness and to encourage parents to participate in school activities and strengthening the capacity of Community Mobilization Working Groups (CMWGs) at the ministry and field level to monitor parental engagement and to hold schools accountable for achieving the Parent-Teacher Councils (PCTs) and Parent Involvement Programs (PIP).

Kaizen continues to utilize an adapted professional communities approach stemming from previous experience in Jordan. Now in its sixth year of implementation, Kaizen has built a professional community that supports its members to understand common challenges in early reading and mathematics, empowering membership through peer-to-peer transfer of ideas, experience and expertise, and undertakes actions to recommend constructive change.
